Vehicle Fire Under Investigation After Jeep Found Burning In Waldorf

WALDORF, Md. — Maryland fire investigators are investigating after a Jeep Liberty was found burning early Friday morning in Waldorf.

The fire was reported around 3:25 a.m. on June 26, 2026, in the 4100 block of Lancaster Circle.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal reported that a passerby discovered a 2005 Jeep Liberty on fire and contacted authorities.

The Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded with 10 firefighters and brought the fire under control in about five minutes.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators listed the area of origin as the vehicle exterior and the preliminary cause as incendiary. Damage was estimated at $2,500.
