WALDORF, Md. — A Waldorf man is facing assault charges after allegedly threatening and physically confronting a female victim during a domestic dispute that, according to charging documents, began over a request for food and escalated when banking plans were disrupted. David Alan Reulet, 55, was arrested following the incident at their shared apartment.
According to charging statements, the incident occurred on Sept. 13, 2025, around 10:46 a.m. when Deputy R. Morris responded to a Gallery Place apartment for a report of threats. Court records state that Reulet woke the victim from sleep asking for food and became upset with her explanation.
Authorities allege that Reulet threatened to throw all of the victim’s belongings out and grabbed a bag of her laundry. When the victim grabbed the other end of the bag, Reulet allegedly used his chest to strike her in the chest during the struggle. The victim told deputies she felt a slight burning sensation from the impact.
The victim also reported that Reulet threatened to punch her in the face during the altercation. According to charging documents, when the couple’s adult daughter emerged from her room and supported the victim’s account, Reulet allegedly threatened physical violence toward her as well.
When questioned by deputies, Reulet reportedly stated that no one had hit each other and described the incident as a struggle over a trash bag. He acknowledged, according to the report, that the victim tried to forcefully take the bag from him and admitted he shoved her to get her away from him.
Reulet faces one count of second-degree assault, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $2,500 fine. Court records indicate Reulet was released on his own recognizance on Sept. 13, 2025, after waiving his right to an attorney.
The court determined Reulet was ineligible for public defender services. A trial is scheduled for Nov. 5, 2025, at 9 a.m. in Charles County District Court.
The State’s Attorney’s Office for Charles County is prosecuting the case.
