WALDORF, Md. — A Waldorf man is facing a series of criminal and traffic charges in Charles County after authorities say he attempted to break into a home, damaged property, and drove recklessly while impaired by alcohol.
Court records show that 23-year-old Luis Luna-Morales was arrested on Dec. 3, 2025, after a resident reported that he tried to force entry into a residence on Cedar Tree Lane in Waldorf. The homeowner restrained him until deputies arrived. Officers noted Luna-Morales smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech, and initially gave a false name before admitting his identity. Empty beer bottles were found inside his vehicle, a white Nissan Altima.
Authorities allege Luna-Morales also threatened another citizen nearby, making gun-like hand gestures, and struck a speed limit sign with his car. Witnesses provided video evidence of the damage, police said.
He has been charged with malicious destruction of property valued at more than $1,000, fraud to avoid prosecution, fourth-degree burglary, and a series of traffic offenses including reckless driving, negligent driving, driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to control speed to avoid collision, and displaying expired registration plates.
A bail review hearing was held on December 4 before Judge Sally C. Chester in Charles District Court. Records show Luna-Morales was initially held without bond but later released on his own recognizance. A trial date was scheduled for January 21, 2026.

Seriously WTF!?! Remember when drunk driving was an automatic trip to jail? because I do! Maybe you spent a weekend or maybe you spent 30 days if you were a real POS but not anymore! Now you can drive drunk while breaking into homes and damaging property and be released back into society so you can skip town and never show up for your court date. Why does this happen? Who knows, maybe because he’s considered a minority? Be careful thinking that or you might be deemed a racist, even though it’s a logical conclusion if you’ve been paying attention to MD’s court system in recent years.
