LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A Waldorf man is facing multiple charges after deputies responded to a reported trespassing incident at a shopping center in Lexington Park and discovered suspected drug paraphernalia, according to court records.

Charles Edward Taylor, 40, of Waldorf, was arrested April 16, 2026, at the Millison Plaza shopping center on North Shangri-La Drive.

According to the statement of probable cause, deputies responded to a complaint from a store manager who reported Taylor had returned to the property after previously being trespassed from the location.

Authorities made contact with Taylor as he was walking through the parking lot near a Dollar Tree store and confirmed he had been barred from the property days earlier.

Deputies advised Taylor he was not permitted to be on the property. According to charging documents, he acknowledged he had previously been trespassed from the location.

Taylor was taken into custody, and a search incident to arrest revealed multiple glass pipes with burnt residue and filtering devices commonly used to smoke crack cocaine.

Investigators said Taylor admitted the items were used for narcotics use and that he had prior experience with similar devices.

Taylor is charged with trespassing on private property, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released on a $1,500 unsecured personal bond following his arrest.

Under Maryland law, trespassing on private property carries a maximum penalty of up to 90 days in jail and a fine of up to $500. Possession of a controlled dangerous substance carries a maximum penalty of up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $5,000, while possession of drug paraphernalia carries a potential penalty of up to one year and a fine of up to $500.

A hearing is set for May 28, 2026, in St. Mary’s District Court.
