WALDORF, Md. — Milk & Honey Southern Inspired Kitchen is now permitted to serve alcoholic beverages in its newly opened expansion space after receiving approval from the Charles County Board of License Commissioners on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026.
The restaurant expanded into a previously vacant storefront next door at its 3257 Plaza Way location in Charles County Plaza, adding approximately 2,400 square feet and 64 additional seats. The expansion doubles total seating capacity from 64 to 128.
While the additional dining area had already opened to customers, alcoholic beverages were not being served there pending board approval to extend the licensed premises.
During the Feb. 12 meeting, the board unanimously approved the request.
Restaurant representatives told the board that operations will remain consistent. Alcohol sales currently account for about 15% of total sales, and that percentage is expected to remain steady following the expansion.
Guests will continue to check in through the main entrance, though patrons may exit through the expansion side. A mobile bar may be used in the new space for larger parties, but most alcohol service will continue from the primary bar area.
Milk & Honey Waldorf originally opened in 2023 and features a Southern-inspired brunch and dinner menu. Offerings include chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, salmon dishes, sandwiches, salads and specialty breakfast plates, along with craft cocktails, mimosas and other brunch beverages.
With the board’s action, the expanded dining area can now fully operate under the restaurant’s existing alcohol license.
