At 2 p.m. Jan. 3, Tpr Evans of the Leonardtown barrack stopped a vehicle for having an inoperable brake light on Route 246 at Kay Drive in Lexington Park.
A check through NCIC revealed the driver, Mark Alphonso Holt, 21, of Valley Lee, had an open warrant for failing to appear in court to answer charges of driving on a suspended license and privilege.
Holt was arrested and a search incident to arrest was conducted. At that time a 16-year-old passenger handed the officer a plastic bag containing marijuana.
Holt was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held without bail.
The juvenile was arrested on a charge of Possession of Marijuana and taken to the State Police Leonardtown Barrack, processed and released into the custody of a parent pending disposition by Juvenile Justice.
