Who Needs a License When You’ve Got Booze and Cocaine?

At 2:30 am, on Sunday, January 7, TFC Koch responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in the area of the 38000 block of Chaptico Road in Mechanicsville. 

Upon arrival, TFC Koch made contact with the driver, Garrett Dewayne Butler, 27, of  Lexington Park, in a 1997 Acura, stuck in a front yard.  A strong odor of alcohol was emitting from his breath. 

After further investigation, Mr. Butler was arrested for DWI and driving while revoked.  A search incident to arrest revealed cocaine on the floor of the vehicle. 

Mr. Butler was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center in Leonardtown pending a bond review. 

Mr. Butler was charged with DWI and driving while revoked and possession of cocaine.
