The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for a large portion of the Baltimore and Washington DC corridor.

Potential for five inches of snow in most of the area. Models are currently predicting less than that in Southern Maryland. There is much greater potential for snow in parts of northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley. Additionally, high snowfalls are being anticipated in Highland County in Virginia and Pendleton County in West Virginia.

The watch is currently in place from late on Jan. 30 until the evening of Jan. 31. Expect this to impact any traveling around the region.

We will continue to monitor the weather and provide updates periodically throughout the day.

If you see snow falling, feel free to send in your photos from around the region for a chance to be featured! Contact our news team at news@thebaynet.com
