OWINGS, Md. — One person was seriously injured Thursday night after being thrown from a golf cart in Owings, prompting a medevac response.
Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 9:05 p.m. July 16, 2026, to the 5900 block of Scaggs Road for a reported serious accident involving a golf cart.
Initial reports indicated the golf cart struck a pothole, causing a female passenger to be thrown from the vehicle and hit her head on the concrete.
The patient was reportedly bleeding from the head. She was conscious when emergency crews arrived.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 landed near the scene and airlifted the patient to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center for treatment.
