LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A woman was charged with burglary and malicious destruction of property after deputies said she kicked in an apartment door and destroyed a guitar and cellphone during a dispute in Lexington Park.

Jezenia Tan Yell Beale, 21, of no fixed address, was charged with third-degree burglary and three counts of malicious destruction of property valued under $1,000 following the June 19, 2026, incident.

According to charging documents, a St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to 21636 Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, the location of Canopy Liquors, for a reported assault.

When the deputy arrived, three victims were contacted inside an apartment of the building, according to charging documents.

One victim reported that Beale began making threats and accused another person of stealing her bag. Charging documents state Beale followed the victims to their apartment and kicked in the door.

After entering the apartment, Beale allegedly broke a guitar, scattered it onto the floor and broke several other items, including vases, flowers and a candle.

A victim told the deputy that Beale did not have permission to enter the residence, according to charging documents.

The victim was able to show Ring doorbell camera footage that allegedly captured Beale kicking the door and entering the apartment.

After leaving the residence, Beale was found on the sidewalk along FDR Boulevard. Charging documents state the deputy contacted her and advised her of her rights.

Beale allegedly stated she had left her purse with an unknown person and, when she returned, nobody knew who had it. She allegedly stated another person had her purse in a drawer inside his apartment but claimed she only interacted with him verbally.

Charging documents state Beale then refused to speak further.

Deputies reported that Beale broke and entered the apartment to commit a crime. Court documents list damage to the apartment door at approximately $400, a Fender guitar at approximately $700 and a Samsung Galaxy 14 phone at approximately $200.

Court records show Beale posted a $5,000 unsecured personal bond June 20.

A preliminary hearing is set for July 17 in St. Mary’s County District Court.
