Woman charged with assaulting officer at crash scene

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – On March 3, 2019, Dep. Fenwick was in the 21400 block of Pegg Road in Lexington Park, regarding a motor vehicle collision. 

Carla Evette Blanton, age 48 of Lexington Park, attempted to bypass officers on scene, and get access to a patient in the collision.  Blanton placed her hand on an officer’s throat and attempted to choke him.  Officers on scene attempted to take Blanton into custody, at which time she began resisting and grabbed another officer by the shirt. 

Blanton was taken into custody and charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Resist/Interfere with Arrest, and Obstructing and Hindering.  CASE# 13047-19
