On May 28, at 9:15 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in Lexington Park for the report of a burglary in progress.
Investigation revealed Christopher A. Prince, 30 of Lexington Park, attempted to gain entry into his former girlfriends residence by forcing open a bedroom window. The victim heard the Prince opening the window and confronted him at which time Prince pulled a window shade and curtain from the window. Prince then struck the victim with the curtain rod causing a laceration to her arm.
The victim was able to obtain a canister of pepper spray and sprayed Prince in the facial area. Prince then fled the area but was located by Deputy K. Meyer and placed under arrest without incident.
Prince was subsequently charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, malicious destruction of property and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner
