On Sept. 14 at 11:50 p.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of Hanover Court in Waldorf for the report of an assault.
Investigation revealed the victim was at the residence to pick up her child when the suspect, her estranged husband, threatened her and another person with a pipe. As the victim left, the suspect smashed the windows of her car and
fled prior to police arrival. Officers canvassed the area and located the suspect a short distance away. The suspect attempted to flee and pushed the officers.
He was subdued and charged with first-degree assault and resisting arrest. The suspect’s name has not been released to protect the identity of the victim and her child. Officer D. Suave is investigating.
