Woman arrested after hitting child with curtain rod

On March 31, 2015, Deputy Shane Cameron responded to a residence on Forest Run Drive in Lexington Park, for a disturbance.

The investigation revealed suspect Shivon Vivonique Daniels, age 36, of Lexington Park, engaged in an argument with the 12 year old victim over a cell phone.

During the argument, the victim began to throw items inside the house. Daniels grabbed a curtain rod and struck the victim several times. The last strike was to the victim’s face, which caused a cut on the victim’s lip and a chipped tooth.

Daniels was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. She was charged with 2nd Degree Child Abuse and 2nd Degree Assault.
