This past weekend, Nov. 7 and Nov. 8, Maryland International Raceway hosted theย 14th Annual U.S. Army World Cup Finals. The weather was great and the crowds large to see the โ€˜importsโ€™ do battle with โ€˜domesticโ€™ drag racers from around the world.

The U.S. Armyโ€™s World Cup Finals had something for everyone: a custom car show, bikini contest, burnout contest, interactive vendor midways, live DJs, huge crowds, beautiful women, and of course lots of racing action. The annual event has become what can only be classed as a racing phenomenon.

Over 700 drag racers competed in nine different classes to bring side by side action of every type of genre in drag racing. During the event, Fords, Chevys, Pontiacs, Buicks, and Mopars took on the Hondas, Toyotas, Mitsubishis, Mazdas, Nissans, BMWs, and others in heads-up action.

One of the biggest attractions at the World Cup Finals was the bikini contest held on Sunday, where models strutted their stuff in front of thousands on MIR’s stage. The contest followed a roaring, smoking tire-wrecking burnout contest which energized the crowd.
