St. Maryโ€™s County Recreation and Parks Department will oversee youth football for the 2010 season and beyond. After much deliberation and planning, the St. Maryโ€™s Recreation and Parks Youth Football League (SMRP YFL) will offer four clubs, with a total of 41 teams in seven different weight classes.

Recreation Division Manager Arthur Sherherd said, โ€œThe volunteer leadership within each club has been outstanding during this transition period.โ€ Shepherd said he is excited about the upcoming season and looks forward to โ€œa place where families can enjoy youth football together.โ€
