St. Mary’s County Recreation and Parks Department will oversee youth football for the 2010 season and beyond. After much deliberation and planning, the St. Mary’s Recreation and Parks Youth Football League (SMRP YFL) will offer four clubs, with a total of 41 teams in seven different weight classes.

Recreation Division Manager Arthur Sherherd said, “The volunteer leadership within each club has been outstanding during this transition period.” Shepherd said he is excited about the upcoming season and looks forward to “a place where families can enjoy youth football together.”
