Firefighters Extinguish Pickup Truck Blaze In Leonardtown

CLEMENTS, Md. — A vehicle fire shut down a section of Colton Point Road late Thursday morning, prompting detours.

The fire was reported at about 11:46 a.m. Aug. 14, 2025, near the intersection of Colton Point Road and Sunnyside Road. Officials advised motorists to avoid the area for about an hour while crews worked to extinguish the blaze.

Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department Engine 10 arrived to find a Ford F-150 fully involved. Firefighters operated for roughly 30 minutes before returning to service.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
