A 10-year-old boy was injured Thursday night when he apparently crashed a mini bike into a vehicle.
Bay District Volunteer Firefighters and Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad members arrived on scene at Mill Cove Road, California, shortly before 5 p.m.
Volunteer rescuers found a boy who had been riding the mini bike suffering from a serious leg injury and road rash.
Incident command called for an emergency helicopter transport, but the service was grounded do to the rainy weather.
The boy was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital by Lexington Park Volunteer ambulance 399.
On Friday, the St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Office had no details of the incident. The Bay Net will bring more information when it becomes available.
