LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — We are receiving reports that a child was struck by a vehicle near Midway Drive this afternoon.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on November 15, first responders were called to the scene in the 21000 block of Great Mills Road, in the area of Midway Drive for reports of a pedestrian involved accident.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a 13-year-old boy who had been struck by a vehicle. The boy was determined to be conscious, alert and breathing but suffering from leg pains. He would be transported to a nearby hospital following the incident.

The driver of the vehicle requested additional medical attention on the scene, but would not be transported to the hospital.

Expect delays near the scene and avoid the area if possible.
