Sunderland Man Charged After Woman Reports Indecent Exposure At TJ Maxx

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Sunderland man has been recently charged by criminal summons after he exposed himself to a woman inside the TJ Maxx in Prince Frederick, according to charging documents.

Xavier Alexander Jones, 24, of Sunderland, was charged with indecent exposure.

A Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputy made contact with a woman on Feb. 18, 2026, after she reported an indecent exposure incident at the TJ Maxx on Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick.

According to charging documents, the woman told police she was at the store at about 10 a.m. when a male suspect approached her in the back of the store. Police said the man pulled his genitals out of his pants and showed them to her before she immediately left the store and reported the incident.

A TJ Maxx loss prevention officer later provided video footage of the incident, according to the report. The deputy wrote that the video showed a man in the store with his genitalia exposed and showing it to the woman.

Police said the man was wearing a Panera Bread uniform. The deputy then went to the Panera Bread on Costley Way in Prince Frederick and spoke with a manager, who identified the man as an employee named Xavier Jones, according to charging documents.

The manager showed police Jones’ employee file, which contained an Illinois driver’s license. The deputy wrote that he was able to identify the man in the video as Jones through the license photo.

Police said attempts to contact Jones by phone were unsuccessful.

A criminal summons was issued May 8, 2026. Jones was not arrested.

A preliminary inquiry is set for June 29, 2026, at Calvert District Court.

Under Maryland law, indecent exposure carries up to three years of incarceration and up to $1,000 in fines if Jones is convicted.
