Leonardtown, MD –ย At about 10:13 a.m. on Feb. 20 five volunteer fire departments responded to a house fire on St. Margaret’s Drive in Leonardtown.ย
The single story wood framed house, owned by Robert Perry, was severely damaged. The six occupants of the home are not able to stay there and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The smoke alarm in the home alerted the occupants of the fire.ย
Damage is estimated at $200,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.ย
Leonardtown, Hollywood, Bay District, Second District, and Seventh District volunteer fire departments all responded to the call.
It took 45 firefighters about 20 minutes to control the fire.
