PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Meet Wilma, a four-month-old puppy who is waiting at Calvert Animal Welfare League (CAWL) to find her forever family.

Wilma just turned 4 months old and is thought to be a black lab and husky mix. She is expected to grow to be a medium-sized dog. Wilma was brought in with four siblings, all of whom have been adopted. Wilma adores being with people and is crate-trained, gets along with dogs and cats, is learning her basic commands, and is making great progress with her housetraining.

Shelter staff describe Wilma as fun, sweet and smart, and her foster family “can’t believe no one has scooped her up yet.”

CAWL’s Facebook posts show Wilma loving her foster family, who rave about her sweet, loving nature. Wilma is an affectionate, happy dog who is always ready to play, and the staff is confident she’ll bring lots of happiness to her future family.

You can learn more about Wilma and fill out an application online. CAWL has specific policies for puppy adoption. Adoption hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays at 1040 N. Prince Frederick Blvd.

You can also reach out directly to the shelter if you’re interested in meeting Wilma, and follow the organization on Facebook for the latest updates.
