LEONARDTOWN, Md. — A longtime spring tradition returns to St. Mary’s County on Saturday, March 28, 2026, as the 43rd annual Easter Egg Festival welcomes families to Leonardtown for a day filled with color, candy and community fun.

The rain-or-shine event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to the entire community, with FREE general admission. Children up to age 12 can participate in egg hunts, while families can enjoy visits with the Easter Bunny and Mrs. Cottontail, live entertainment, free arts and crafts, and face painting throughout the day.

Local vendors and food trucks will also be on hand, offering a mix of handmade items, food and services from area businesses. Egg hunt tickets will be available for advance online purchase beginning Monday, March 2, through CivicPlus.

Hosted by St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks, the Easter Egg Festival has become a beloved spring tradition in Leonardtown. Proceeds from the event, along with the department’s annual golf tournament, support the Recreation & Parks Scholarship Program, which helps qualified residents participate in programs at a reduced cost.

Organizers are currently seeking sponsors, with multiple sponsorship levels offering promotional opportunities reaching more than 12,000 households, as well as visibility on social media and the county website. Vendor and food truck registration is now open online through CivicPlus, with priority approval for returning vendors available before Jan. 26 and new vendor registration opening Jan. 27.
