Arrest in southern Maryland

RIDGE, Md. – A 54-year-old man was hospitalized Monday after a stabbing in Ridge that authorities say remains under investigation.

Deputies and emergency crews were called around 2:45 a.m. Sept. 1, 2025, to the 16700 block of Three Notch Road. Responders found the man with an apparent stab wound to the neck.

The victim was transported to a regional hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office said detectives are pursuing leads but have not released information on a suspect.
