MSPAC trooper  fly out

MECHANICSVILLE, Md. – A 69-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle this morning at the Maryland International Raceway located at 27861 Budds Creed Road.

The incident occurred just before 10:00 a.m., on April 13, 2024, during the second day of the HDAY event.

The on-site transport unit met with local EMS at the gate with the injured man who was conscious, breathing, and suffering from a broken femur. EMS evaluated the patient and requested a MEDEVAC due to the severity of his injuries.

Firefighters established a landing zone at the neighboring Potomac Motor Speedway for Maryland State Police, Trooper 7.  The patient was then flown to UM Capital Region Trauma Center for treatment.
