At 10:24 a.m. Aug. 13, William J. Trainor, 70 of Leonardtown, dialed 9-11 and told the Emergency Operations Center that he had strangled his wife.
Police and medical units responded and found the victim, Elizabeth Trainor, 70, incapacitated at the home from apparently being strangled.
She was flown to P.G. Shock Trauma by MSP helicopter and was listed in serious condition Monday afternoon.
St. Mary’s Bureau of Criminial Investigations detectives determined the suspect planned to kill his wife, and then to kill himself.
BCI detectives charged Trainor with Attempted Murder and 1st Degree Assault. He is incarcerated at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center without bond.
