At 3:08 p.m. Jan. 24, a 2005 Toyota Corolla driven by Joan Marguerite Goggi, 83, of White Plains attempted to turn left onto St. Patrick’s Drive from Smallwood Drive West in Waldorf but failed to yield the right of way to a Ford E250 traveling east on Smallwood Drive West.
The driver of the Ford, Monte J. Tasker, 48, of La Plata, was not injured but Goggi sustained incapacitating injuries.
She was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George’s Hospital Center. Charles County Sheriff’s Officer J. Cooney is investigating.
