BALTIMORE, Md. – Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh today issued the following statement:
“The draft opinion of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade is a dangerous departure from 50 years of precedent. If adopted by a majority of the Court, the decision will undermine the rights of women to control their own bodies and their health care. It will subject survivors of abuse, rape and incest to additional trauma by preventing them from accessing abortions. And, as usual, a decision overturning Roe will have the most harmful and lasting impact on women of color and on poor women, many of whom already lack meaningful access to safe, affordable reproductive health care.
“A decision overturning Roe also has broader implications for our modern society, threatening the rights of all Americans to make private decisions about their lives without government interference and endangering the hard-fought rights of LGBTQ Americans. As citizens, it is more important than ever that we demand better from those who hold power in our institutions and that we hold our elected officials accountable for their role in protecting our rights.
“Elected officials in Maryland have protected women’s rights for more than three decades, and I am proud to have been a part of those efforts both as a legislator and as the Attorney General. I am especially proud of having voted to codify Roe v. Wade in the House of Delegates in 1991 and for the work that our office has done to protect and expand access to reproductive health care services across Maryland. I am optimistic that our state will continue to be a champion for the rights of women to make their own health care decisions, and that it will continue to protect the rights to privacy for all Marylanders.”

Ah hot from the twitter sites and Fox, the far right talking points. So let me ask you a question: suppose this had not been leaked and was released as a final decision in June/July. Are you seriously trying to insinuate that people would have been less riled up by a final decision that much closer to the election? Before you put your silly words in my mouth, I am not saying the leak was proper. What I am saying is your comments are ridiculous.
Personally I believe in personal choices. It doesn’t need to be my choice but I don’t think that overturning it should be the issue. If they wanted a real perspective on the issue today, I think it should be fathers rights if pregnancy develops after consensual sex. If the mother is compensated and gives all rights to the father. If you don’t want both people to have equal rights then you make sure to use protection or not have sex at all. Of course non-consensual situations are different.
I agree to a point. After a few weeks it should be illegal. Killing a full or near full term baby is murder no matter how you look at it. It’s really bad that the liberals leaked it out to start some bull among the two sides. Never ceases to amaze me how worthless those idiots in government are.
If you don’t believe in abortion, don’t have one; if you are happy with your gender, then don’t change; if you don’t believe in gay marriage, then marry someone of the opposite sex; if you don’t believe in interracial marriage, then marry someone who looks a lot like you; if you don’t believe in birth control, find a partner who agrees with you and don’t use it.

Serious question: What does Roe v. Wade have to do with LBGTQ? Seems like this is just a buzzword to gather support from a broader base.
Good question: is there a link between the birth control industry + the abortion industry? The abortion industry is dependent upon unplanned pregnancies so girls might seek to terminate them, so I wonder if birth control is intentionally ineffective. In other words, birth control + its failure is the raw material for the abortion industry. I mean, if there were a way to create a 100% effective birth control, I wonder whether it would come- to- market because birth control needs to be ineffective for pregnancies to occur. How is the abortion industry linked to the birth control industry?

The figure lost from abortion is not limited to that figure, its their kids, also, the descendants. So the population lost from abortion is unknown. Thats position 1. Illegal immigration is replacing the population, if they stay. Whats the link between abortion + illegal immigration? Is stopping illegal immigration separate from stopping abortion, or are they 1 in the same, on- par with each other? Is the thought in Washington, in the US Congress that if we have illegal immigration, we must have abortion, or we can only have abortion if we have illegal immigration. Is there a concern about how the population is going to be replaceed because of abortion + therefore, illegal immigration is going to continue because the population must be replaced? Do those who condone abortion condone illegal immigration, or, if you’re pro- life, do you also not condone illegal immigration. Whats the rule- of- thumb about the borders being open + being right- to- life?
