WHITE PLAINS, Md. โ€” A 62-year-old woman and 12-year-old girl were hospitalized Sunday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle at a turf field in White Plains. Emergency responders transported both victims to area hospitals following the incident that occurred near the recreational facility on Bensville Road.

Charles County emergency units responded to 6980 Bensville Road around 4:41 p.m. on October 5, 2025, for reports of pedestrians struck by a vehicle. According dispatch, at least two people had been run over by a vehicle near the turf field. Witnesses reported small children were inside the vehicle before it drove off and struck the two victims.

The adult victim sustained injuries to her left leg and left arm, while the 12-year-old suffered right arm pain. Furthermore, both victims were conscious, alert, and breathing when first responders arrived on scene.

The White Plains pedestrian accident required coordination between multiple Charles County emergency units to provide appropriate care and transport for both victims. Additionally, paramedics classified both patients as Priority 3, indicating serious but non-life-threatening injuries requiring hospital evaluation.

EMS transported the 12-year-old girl to Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, another EMS team transported the 62-year-old woman to Capital Region Medical Center. Both ambulances cleared their respective hospitals and returned to service promptly afterward.

Neither victim’s current condition has been officially released by hospital authorities. The investigation into the vehicle collision continues. The circumstances surrounding why the vehicle struck the two pedestrians remain under investigation. Whether the incident was accidental or intentional has not been confirmed by authorities.
