Truck Theft Trail: Deputies Track Stolen F-250 Through Calvert County

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Brandywine man was arrested in Calvert County after deputies located a stolen pickup truck valued at tens of thousands of dollars, leading to multiple felony theft charges, according to charging documents.

Court records identify the defendant as Bernard James McCoy III, 46, of Brandywine. The arrest occurred Dec. 15, 2025, after a Calvert County Sheriff’s deputy received a license plate reader alert for a stolen 2025 Ford F-250 traveling through the county.

According to the statement of probable cause, the truck was detected near Cove Point Road in Lusby and later located traveling northbound on Solomons Island Road in the Prince Frederick area. Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop near Sherry Lane, where McCoy was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators reported the truck had been reported stolen several days earlier from EAN Holdings LLC, with an estimated value of $55,000. Records indicate McCoy was not authorized to operate or remove the vehicle and was alleged to have taken it as part of a continuing theft scheme.

McCoy was charged with theft of $25,000 to under $100,000, theft scheme involving $25,000 to under $100,000, and unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle. He was released on his own recognizance the day of his arrest.

Court records show a trial scheduling hearing is set for Feb. 13, 2026, in Calvert County District Court.
