***The Maryland Department of Health has information that is not current with what St. Mary’s County Health Department officials are reporting. At this time, St. Mary’s County is showing 89 positive cases.***

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. โ€” As of Monday morning at roughly 10 a.m., the Maryland Department of Health(MDH) is confirming a total of 8,936 cases of the novel coronavirus(COVID-19) across the state of Maryland, while there are going to be more results that are presumably still waiting to be confirmed.

This new total means there are 771 newly confirmed cases in the past 24 hours.

Of the confirmed cases, over 1,975 people have ever been hospitalized, and 115 of those were recorded in the past day.

603 previously infected people have been released from their isolation according to MDH, 147 of which have been recorded in the past day.

27 people in the state have died from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the stateโ€™s death toll unfortunately up to 262.

Negative test results also grew, with at least 1,276 negative confirmations in the past day, bring that total to 42,815.

At this time, there are at least 472 officially confirmed cases in the Southern Maryland region. Charles County saw their previously confirmed total rise to 274. In Calvert County, MDH has confirmed four more official cases overnight, bringing their total up to 94.

St. Maryโ€™s County now counts cases on a rolling basis, and records from the county show a total of 104 cases now.

A majority of the positive cases across the state are still found in Montgomery County and Prince George’s County. PG County has officially has the most of any county in the state, with an overnight increase of at least 170 cases bringing the total to 2,205.

Since yesterday, Montgomery County saw an increase of at least 134 newly recorded cases, bringing their total to at least 1,756.

Anne Arundel County has also confirmed 65 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing their official total to 724.

On April 12, the total number of confirmed cases by the Maryland Department of Health was at least 8,225. As of April 13, that recorded number is at least 8,945, showing over a 8.7% increase across the state in the past 24 hours.
