Huntingtown, MD –ย An early morning fire that totally destroyed an abandoned single-family dwelling in Calvert County remains under investigation, state authorities reported.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the blaze was reported Monday, April 4 around 4:30 a.m. on Wilson Road in Huntingtown. Ten firefighters brought the flames under control in 30 minutes. There were no injuries, and the estimated loss was $5,000.ย 

โ€œA passerby reported a possible brush fire in the area of Dunn Road and Wilson Road,โ€ a fire marshalโ€™s report stated. โ€œUpon arrival of the fire department, it was discovered that an abandoned house had been completely burned.โ€

The owner of the 15-foot-by 20-foot structure was identified as Margaret Goldstein.
