A winter storm warning has been issued for St. Mary’s, Charles, and Calvert counties from 6:00 p.m. Feb. 16 until 12:00 p.m. on Feb. 17
Emergency water valve repair:
Feb. 15 preparations are underway by the Department of Public Works (DPW), Utilities Division, to repair a broken water valve between Burning Oak and Council Oak in the neighborhood of White Oak. Repairs are expected to take approximately five hours with an estimated completion time of 10:30 p.m. Once normal service is restored, run spigots for discolored water. Road closures and accidents:
Ferry Landing Road and Alex Lane is shut down due to a tree and power lines blocking the roadway.

There is a wind chill advisory for Charles, St. Mary’s and Calvert counties until 12:00 p.m. on Feb. 15
