Advisory – Crash involving school bus reported

UPDATE 10:30 a.m – The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office has released the following statement in connection with the collision:

“At approximately, 8:42 a.m., deputies responded to the intersection of Sunnyside Road and Pin Cushion Road for the report of a motor vehicle collision involving a St. Mary’s County School Bus. The intersection has been reopened for traffic. A few students were transported to Med star St. Mary’s Hospital for minor injuries. The motor vehicle collision is still under investigation by St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies.”

Advisory: The intersection at Sunnyside Road and Pin Cushion Road will be temporarily closed due to the motor vehicle accident..

Loveville, MD – At 8:45 a.m., sources reported a motor vehicle accident involving a school bus. The incident occurred at the intersection of Pin Cushion Road and Sunnyside Road.

Police are at the scene initially reported there were no injuries, only property damage. However, The BayNet has since learned one person is being transported to a hospital.
