Veterans Resource DayFirst Annual Veterans Resource Day – Nov. 9

 

Leonardtown, MD – St. Mary’s County is home to a large number of veterans, retirees, active-duty service men and women and their families. In an effort to provide easy access to resources in one centralized location, the St. Mary’s County Department of Aging & Human Services is proud to announce the first Veterans Resource Day.

The event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the College of Southern Maryland, Building A auditorium, located at 22950 Hollywood Road in Leonardtown. Representatives from Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Charlotte Hall Veteran’s Home, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Disabled American Veterans and more will be on hand to provide information and resources.

The highlight of the event will be a question and answer session, featuring a panel of experts covering a wide variety of topics, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), continuing education for veterans, veteran’s employment opportunities and housing.

The question and answer portion of the program will be televised live on St. Mary’s County Government TV 95 and streamed on the St. Mary’s County website at www.stmarysmd.com/broadcast.asp (click the LIVE link to view) for individuals unable to attend in person.

This important event is free and the public is invited to attend.
