Alice Pittard Lucas, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 79 years old.
Born in Virginia on September 6, 1946, Alice was the cherished daughter of the late James and Helen Pittard. She dedicated her life to her family as a loving homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with treasured memories.
Alice was the beloved wife of Charles William Lucas, Jr., and a devoted mother to her four children: John William Lucas (Naomi) of Henryville, Indiana; Joseph Charles Lucas (Sherry) of Franklin, Ohio; Amy Elisabeth VonCannon (Lee) of Crofton, Maryland; and Daniel Roland Lucas (Emily) of Halethorpe, Maryland.
She is also survived by her brothers, Roger Pittard (late wife, Elizabeth), Eric Pittard (Lois), Clyde Pittard (Belinda), and Karl Pittard (Suzan), along with extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Alice found great joy in her role as grandmother and will be deeply missed by her nine grandchildren: Liam, Adam, Noah, James, Helen, Thomas, Emily, Donald, and Luke. Her love, guidance, and gentle spirit will remain with them always.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Alice’s life on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Brinsfield Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall, Maryland. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 4:00 p.m., officiated by Senior Pastor Bill Eddins of Hughesville Baptist Church.
Interment will take place on June 15, 2026, at St. Clairsville Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
Alice’s strength, kindness and unwavering love for her family touched the lives of all who knew her. Though she will be greatly missed, her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
