Andrew Francis Nicholson, 46, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away on August 9, 2026.
Born on December 30, 1979, in Leonardtown, Maryland, Andrew was a lifelong Southern Marylander who made his home in the Mechanicsville community. He was the son of Dennis L. Nicholson and Janet T. Knox.
Andrew was a longtime employee of Papa John’s and, before that, worked as an IT technician, traveling across the country for his job. He had a lifelong interest in science fiction, flight, and space and was an avid reader. He enjoyed movies, trivia, and video games, but he especially loved playing cards and was notoriously hard to beat. In his younger years, he enjoyed golf and was a competitive swimmer in Southern Maryland. Andrew was easygoing and, simply put, a “good guy.”
Andrew will be remembered and deeply missed by his parents, Janet and Dennis; his siblings, Gail Nicholson Dodds of Washington, D.C., and Eric L. Nicholson of Leonardtown, Maryland; as well as other family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives he touched.
Andrew’s memory will live on through those who knew and loved him. His family will always cherish the memories they shared with him and the lasting impact he made throughout his life.
A casual dress Memorial will be held on Tuesday, September 1st, at IL Piccolo Morso, 22845 Washington Street, Leonardtown, Maryland, from Noon to 3:00 p.m. Please visit/drop in, during that time, at IL Piccolo Morso to celebrate Andrew and share with family. Interment will be private.
