On Friday, September 23, 2005 at 5:38 pm a citizen called 911 and advised of two vehicles (an Explorer and a Tracer) driving in a reckless manner on Route 235 turning onto Route 4 and then continuing on Indian Bridge Road.
The suspect vehicles were traveling in excess of 80 mph, passing on the shoulder and weaving in and out of traffic. The citizen eventually lost sight of the vehicles when they turned onto Route 5.
TFC Davis, off duty, was traveling northbound on Route 5 when both vehicles passed him on the shoulder at a high rate of speed. He observed both vehicles drive into the oncoming southbound traffic in an effort to maneuver around northbound traffic.
After running the red light at Route 5 and Route 249 both vehicles pulled into the Shell gas station. The Tracer then ran into the back of the Explorer.
On duty Troopers arrived on the scene and contacted the drivers of both vehicles. The driver of the Explorer was identified as Enoch Carmen Hunt, 34, of Piney Point. The driver of the Tracer was identified as Nicole Letitia Gray, 35, of Lusby.
Ms. Hunt advised that while sitting in her Explorer Ms. Gray punched the side window. Ms. Hunt stated that she was driving in a reckless manner in an attempt to get away from Ms. Gray.
Ms. Gray advised that she became enraged after an argument. Ms. Hunt was cited for reckless driving on a traffic citation and released. Ms. Gray was arrested and charged with engaging in reckless conduct and assault on Ms. Hunt and her passenger.
