ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Just two days before Christmas, a 39-year-old man was arrested after Anne Arundel County Police discovered drugs, a handgun, and drug paraphernalia during a disturbance investigation at the Red Roof Inn on Riva Road.

Officers responded to the hotel at approximately 6:25 p.m. on December 23, 2024, after receiving reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers encountered Hiram Omar Colon Ramos, who was found in possession of a 9mm Glock 26 handgun and suspected controlled dangerous substances.

Inside the hotel room, officers seized nine rounds of 9mm ammunition, approximately 44 grams of suspected cocaine, 853 grams of suspected marijuana, a digital scale, and a grinder, according to a police statement.

Colon Ramos, who is prohibited from possessing firearms, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including firearm violations and drug-related charges.

Police did not specify the nature of the disturbance that led to the investigation but emphasized the importance of community reports in aiding law enforcement efforts.

Further details regarding Colon Ramos’ initial court appearance were not immediately available.
