Historic St. Maryโs City (HSMC) will host two music performances this month.ย On Friday, April 19, Patty Casey and Tom MacKenzie, formerly of Woods Tea Company, will share their unique brand of acoustic folk music in the State House.ย The duo, performing as Shady Rill, offers a range of sounds — everything from French Canadian dance tunes and Tin Pan Alley, to Old Time Country and their own impressive original compositions. Great harmonies and wonderful instrumentation are the hallmark of these two much-traveled musicians.ย ย The concert will begin at 7 p.m.ย Admission is $15 ($12 for Friends) at the door.ย
Local a cappella singers, St. Maries Musica, will offer a free concert in the Brick Chapel of 1667 on Friday, April 26.ย Intricate harmonies of the musical program โGoing Homeโ will be underscored by the marvelous acoustics of the Chapel.ย Founded in 1971, the group is composed of singers come from all walks of life: engineers and music teachers, retirees, and housewives.ย Their amateur status belies the talent in evidence at each performance.ย The performance will begin at 7 p.m. and admission is free.ย
