Barbara Anne Olson, 84, of California, Maryland, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026.
Born on November 10, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Barb was the daughter of the late Peter Joseph Palmer and Anne Barbara Bercosky. She lived a life defined by service, compassion, faith, and devotion to her family.
Barb dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. Her kindness, skill, and unwavering commitment to her patients made a lasting impact on countless lives throughout her career. She was also a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where she honorably served her country and attained the rank of Captain.
Barb enjoyed traveling, boating, and spending time with family and friends. Among her favorite adventures were trips throughout all seven continents, her favorite places being New England, Norway and Northern Italy. She found joy in exploring new places and creating memories that will be treasured by those who knew her.
Barb is survived by her loving husband, David Frederick Olson of over 57 years; her daughters, Kristine Anne Thomas of California, MD, and Jean Marie Olson of Fort Collins, CO; her cherished grandsons, Ethan Thomas and Carter Thomas; and extended family members and dear friends who will forever remember her warmth, generosity, and loving spirit.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Anne, and her siblings, Peter Palmer and Suzanne Palmer.
Family will receive friends for a visitation Friday, June 19, 2026 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm with a memorial service at 2:00 pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
