Maryland State Police TFC J. Edelen responded to a residence on Middleton Road, Pomfret, at 12:30 a.m. March 22, for a report of a fight with a knife.
Upon his arrival, TFC Edelen spoke with Lydell Walter Wood, 21, of Pomfret, and Andron Rydell Wood, 24, of La Plata.
The two brothers got into a verbal altercation about their father giving another brother money.
After Andron Wood cut his brother with a knife, Lydell Wood grabbed a knife and swung it his brother, police say.
They both went outside into the yard and started fighting more. Both brothers were arrested and charged with second degree assault.
