If you are a fan of Martial Arts, you will want to be sure to stop by the Wildewood Shopping Center in California, MD this Saturday, October 20th for the 13th Annual Open House at Master Shim’s Black Belt Academy. The BBA Tae Kwon Do Demo Team will be on hand to thrill and delight spectators during a special performance featuring Black Belts from the US and South Korea.
The day’s events begin with Opening Ceremonies at 10am, followed a free class at 10:30 with board breaking. Guests are welcome to participate in the free class. The Demo Team performance will start at 11am. In addition to the martial arts activities, guests will enjoy free food, a moon-bounce for the kids, and a drawing for prizes. There are also special “Saturday-Only” discounts available, including a Two-week Trial Membership, and a 10% discount off any regular membership.
Tae Kwon Do, which loosely translated means “the way of the foot and fist” is the national sport of South Korea and the most popular martial art in the world. Currently, Tae Kwon Do is practiced in 123 countries, with over 30 million practitioners and 3 million individuals with black belts throughout the world. It is one of only two Asian martial arts that are included in the Olympic Games. It became a demonstration event starting with the 1988 games in Seoul, and became an official medal event starting with the 2000 games in Sydney.
