The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs defeated the York Revolution 2-1 in 10 innings Monday in a matinee game at Sovereign Bank Stadium in downtown York, Pa. The Blue Crabs were first to tally a point on the board in the top of the first inning, but York answered back by adding one of their own in the bottom of the fourth for a 1-1 tie that wasnโt resolved until the 10th inning. Ryan Mulhern broke the game locked at one, hitting a single in the top of the 10th. Renny Osuna, who started the inning with a lead-off single managed to score as Mulhern was credited with his RBI of the season.ย
Southern Marylandโs lead-off hitter Sean Smith started the game with a walk and a stolen base, before Osuna moved Smith to third, hitting a single. Cesar Nicolas then came to the plate and hit a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Smith for a 1-0 lead. The Revolution then managed to tie the score in the fourth on a Jason Repko RBI, but could not rally again in the bottom of the 10th.ย
Up Next: The Blue Crabs have a chance to improve to .500 as they play the second of back-to-back games on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. against the Revolution to round out a six-game road trip. Southern Maryland will then return to Regency Furniture Stadium to open up a five-game home stand that begins with the Blue Crabs Opening Night on Wednesday, April 24 at 7:05 p.m.ย
