SOMERSET, NJ—The Somerset Patriots closed out the two game series against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs by sweeping them by a final of 6-2 on Saturday night at TD Bank Ballpark.

The Blue Crabs put up the first run of the game when center fielder Dโ€™Arby Myers crossed home on an unearned run by getting on base by a Somerset error but Patriots designated hitter, Brad Snyder sent a two-run shot out of TD Bank Ballpark to put the Patriots ahead.

In the bottom of the third, the Patriots capitalized on Blue Crabs starting pitcher Scott Snodgressโ€™ mishaps with a couple of walks and balks and an RBI single scoring two more runs of their own and continued to score in the fourth, and fifth to secure the lead against the Blue Crabs.

The Blue Crabs tried to rally in the top of the ninth inning for a come from behind win with two outs when short stop Angel Sanchez scored on a sacrifice fly by second baseman Eric Garcia, but could only come up with one more run and Myers struck out to end the game.
