At 12:37 a.m. April 20, TFC J. Linger stopped a vehicle on Golden Beach Road at Jane Gay Drive, Mechanicsville, for having an inoperable tag light.
Upon contact with the driver, La Shonda Deneece Morris, 19, of Mechanicsville, an odor of burnt marijuana was detected.
A probable cause search was conducted. A partially burnt marijuana cigar was located in the driver side door pocket.
Morris was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. She was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
