BALTIMORE – On June 10, 2024, the Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division (IID) released body-cam footage of a fatal police chase that began in Calvert County and ended in Anne Arundel County on May 13, 2024.
The pursuit began after receiving reports in the Huntingtown area of car break-ins. As deputies tried to apprehend the suspects, two vehicles fled the scene, leading to a high-speed chase.
In Chesapeake Beach, two suspects were caught after abandoning their car. The second vehicle was pursued into Anne Arundel County for approximately 25 miles, where it collided with a pick-up truck. The truck driver and the fleeing car’s occupants were hospitalized. The front-seat passenger of the fleeing car, a juvenile female, died from her injuries.
All six suspects, from Glen Burnie, MD, are under investigation, with charges pending. The vehicles involved were reported stolen. The IID continues its investigation, and the suspects’ identities remain undisclosed at this time.
We will continue to provide updates as they become available.

Can you fathom the complete and full police immunity that the mushroom 🍄 John is proposing. It is senseless to pursue a suspect for longer than 15 minutes or 15 miles. At this point the suspect will try anything to get away and as long as he/she continues to jeopardize himself, law enforcement, innocent citizens, and others to escape he/she will not use sound and safe judgement to end the pursuit.
Well Nancy, you sound so sure of your 15 minute/15 mile fantasy. At least until it’s your house that is broken into and your family is threatened or harmed.
It’s so hard to grapple with such a senseless lost of life. Just to think when you have been aware to the fact that the perpetrator is willing to “RISK LIFE & LIMB” to get away, maybe just for a day or two, but eventually always end up an apprehended criminal in the end. LET HIM/HER GO AND ALLOW HIM/HER TO LIVE TO BE CAPTURED ANOTHER DAY!!! EGO -VS- LIFE? 👮🏿🕵🏿⚖️🔐🔏🪤📜🔍📣⚖️🚓 …An innocent motorist’s life isn’t worth saying that his/her life was lost because of the negligence of a “criminal”/bad guy, that you already know is bad because of his/her history or actions of the police chase. It should be hard to go to a family to relay to them that their love one was lost because of criminal chose to try to outrun police when information was obtained to attempt another apprehension in a safer manner and environment….IJS
Only thing I see wrong is the Deputy throwing at loaded long gun in the backseat floor at 26:00 minute. Otherwise great job
