ย Thatโs right Calvert County United Way is holding its annual Mardi Gras and gala fun raiser on March 1 at the nearby the Show Place Arena.
ย Eight years ago the now much anticipated gala event began as a low-key cocktail reception to raise money for United Way of Calvert Countyโs capital campaign. Now, Calvert United Wayโs Mardi Gras raises nearly $100,000 each year for the Community Impact Fund.
ย This year the event comes complete with a wide selection of New Orleans-style dishes, music by the Junkyard Saints, live and silent auctions, beads, costumed fun and entertainment sure to enthuse even the most hard to please.
ย So, take a break from winter and make your way to the lively streets of New Orleans at United Way of Calvert Countyโs annual Mardi Gras celebration and fundraiser at The Show Place Arena on Saturday, March 1, 2008, from 7 pm to midnight. Let down your hair and get ready for the New Orleans experience right here. All you have to do is dance the night away and have fun!
