GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A Bowie man died Monday night after his car struck a telephone pole in Anne Arundel County.

On Sept. 29, 2025, emergency personnel responded around 8:30 p.m. to Ritchie Highway at W Ordnance Road, where they found a 2025 Kia K4 sedan with heavy front-end damage. Investigators said the car had been heading south in the right turn lane when it left the roadway and hit the pole.

The driver, identified as 28-year-old Jonathan William Fowler, was transported to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is reviewing the circumstances of the collision. Officials said no other vehicles were involved, and the investigation remains active.
