On the Hottest day of the year so far in 2010, schools in Southern Maryland were back in session yesterday, April 6. This brought the return of lacrosse and the Chopticon Braves did not disappoint the sun gazing crowd with a 13-5 home victory against Calvert last night in Morganza.

Drew Gant got the scoring underway for the Braves off a pass from Nick Fuhrmann. The Braves got the first five goals of the match until Ryan Schumaker broke up the shutout in the second quarter.

Schumaker was the only player the Braves had trouble stopping as he finished with five goals in the contest for the Cavaliers(1-3).

Gant finished with three goals and one assist, Fuhrmann added two goals and three assists and Christopher Shomper has three goals and an assist for the Braves. Chopticon(3-1) next faces Huntingtown at home Thursday April 8.
